Manuel Sobrinho-Simões MD, PhD

is co-founder and Director of IPATIMUP, Porto, Portugal. He is also Professor and Director of the Department of Pathology and Oncology of the Medical Faculty of the University of Porto, Portugal. His research interests are focused on thyroid cancer pathology: aetiopathogenesis,diagnosis, prognosis and therapy selection. He was President of the European Society of Pathology from 1999-2001 and is co-author of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th edition of the WHO book on endocrine tumours (1988, 2004 and 2016 (in preparation)). Manuel Sobrinho-Simões was voted the most influential pathologist in the World (2015) in a poll conducted by "The Pathologist".
